As a new object-based data storage mode, cloud storage becomes one of the earliestand most mature application in the field of cloud computing. Although cloud storagetechnology has huge market potential, it has some shortcomings in the practicalapplication. It’s difficult for cloud storage and traditional storage and applications toconnect seamlessly. Cloud storage providers have no unified access interface, resulting inbounding problem. The speed of transmission is very low, the access latency is beyondusers’ bear range.The cloud storage gateway system realizes a unified management interface for cloudstorage platforms. It reduces client access latency through cache mechanism and hotspotsmigration. By selecting cost-effective cloud storage platform, it greatly reduces storagecosts. Clouds can connect interoperability through cross-platform data migration. Thesystem consists of four modules. The basic operating module listens and receives theaccess requests from client, connects cloud storage platform, and responds the requests.This module also manages multiple cloud storage platforms uniformly. Cloud platformdata upload module will upload data in the storage pool of cloud storage gateway to theappropriate cloud storage platform, build and manage mapping table between cloudplatform and gateway storage node. Hot data migration module gets the state informationof the nodes regularly, selects part of the hot data according to the node status, movesthese data to appropriate destination storage node, and moves back some hot data uponrequest. Cross-platform data migration module downloads data from cloud storage to localnode, uploads the data to destination cloud storage, and then synchronizes the filemapping table.Multi-version of the system and software installation image and some streamingmedia files were used to test the system’s function and performance. The results showthat the system has achieved all the default features. When the request data is cached inthe gateway, response speed is the5-30times of the cloud storage. Based on the charges ofALIBABA and SNDA cloud platform, the storage cost of our system is only one-sixth ofthe system without cloud storage gateway, which is reduced by86.1%.
