Against issues such as virtual instrument measurement application, virtual instrumentplatform design, and virtual instrument control design, this paper combines rich internettechnology with virtual instrument technology, and studies the implementation of virtualinstrument based on Flex environment. The major research areas of this paper include:Firstly, this paper proposes overall framework for Flex-based virtual instrumentdevelopment system. This paper forms a virtual instrument development tool through carefulstudy of Flex platform mechanism, Flex software acting as overall platform for virtualinstrument development, self-defined control and external control library.Secondly, this paper completes virtual instrument control design. The paper completesthe design of dial controls, chart controls, knob, button controls, three-dimensional chartcontrols, TCP internet controls, virtual signal controls and signal processing controls bydefining control methods, attributions, events and careful study of Flex drawing skills.Thirdly, this paper realizes the codeless and graphic programming by calling the controlpackage. This paper packs the frequently used functions and controls, and calls this packagegraphically in the Flex integrated development environment. By setting the interface controlproperties, this paper realizes virtual instrument programming based on the internet explorer.Based on the above work, I completed the design of virtual instrument development tool.Through the Flex virtual instrument development tools, I design three virtual instrumentprograms and run them successfully using a signal generator, rotor experiment system and acoupled tank experiment system of school of mechanics in HuaZhong University of Scienceand Technology.
