As a new generation advanced industrial solid laser, disk laser effectively reduces thetraditional rod solid laser inherent thermal effect problem and has good developmentprospect, with high beam quality, high conversion efficiency, high output power etc,.However, in the high power condition, inevitably accompanied by serious thermal effect,thermal disturbances, mechanical vibration, etc, these factors often cause misalignment ofresonators. Misaligned resonator will reduce the output power and beam quality, this is veryunfavorable for industrial applications. Therefore, it is especially important to improvestability of resonator. The main contents of this dissertation are focus on improving stabilityof disk laser, including the following aspects: dynamic stability, misalignment stability,thermal disturbances stability, mechanical stability.Firstly, the dynamics characteristics of single disk laser are studied by using opticalmatrix. We obtained the relationship between the stable range of single disk laser,misalignment sensitivity of single disk laser and the parameters of the resonators. Throughthe calculated relationship between beam quality and the stable range of single disk laser,between beam radius of the fundamental mode and the stable range of single disk laser, thusthe relationship between the beam quality and beam radius of the fundamental mode isdeduced.On the basis of single disk laser, the dynamics characteristics and misalignmentsensitivity of multi-disk series connection resonator are researched. Two-disk seriesconnection resonator is suitable for symmetric interval connection, three-disk seriesconnection resonator, four-disk series connection resonator, and five-disk series connectionresonator are suitable for uniformly-pitch connection. At the same time, the thermaldisturbances stability, and mechanical stability are analyzed, providing a practical andreliable theoretical for enhancing disk laser misalignment stability.The results of the theoretical analysis are verified through experiment, the disk laser hasbeen in a stable state, and has a good misalignment stability. Five-disk series connectionresonator’s output power achieves4060W, efficiency reaches28%.
