Research On Billboard Detection And Substitution In The Soccer Video

Currently, the main profit models of the network video website are home pageadvertisement, playback buffer advertisement and play interface advertisement. Thismodel for making profits is relatively simple which will affect the user experience and thedevelopment of the website. Among the massive videos on the website, the soccer videohas occupied a certain proportion which has some unique features, compared with othervideos. For instance, there are quantities of billboards in the soccer video. If the billboardscan be replaced with any virtual billboards, then it will make the product placement in thevideo websites come true, which offers a new model for making profits for the videowebsites.To solve the problem that when detecting the target billboard, the general algorithmcannot detect its four boundaries, the paper puts forward the method of applying thecourt’s segmentationand the features of colors. We candetect four boundaries of the targetbillboards based on the different colors between the billboard and audience areas as wellas the different background colors between two adjacent billboards. To solve the problemof tracking four vertex positions exactly when tracking the target billboard, the paperapplies the tracking methods based on the optical flow and homography matrix and furtheramends the color features of the adjacent areas of estimated vertices. Then after trackingthe position of target billboards in the pictures, we can adjust the shape of virtualbillboards and superimpose the virtual billboards in the pictures, thus enabling thereplacement of billboards.The results of the experiment show that the detection algorithm can effectively detectthe position of the target billboards in the pictures. And when tracking the target billboards,it can track the boundaries exactly. Moreover, tracking algorithm is quite stable. There alsoappears a good visual effect after superimposing the virtual billboards in the soccer videos.However, during the process of detecting and tracking the billboards, the usage of thecolor features will affect the results of the algorithm to certain extent under thecircumstance where the billboards are sheltered severely.
