Being connected by network is one of the most important directions in information technology. In recentyears, the WIFI technology has won great success and provided us fast access to the internet. The transmissionspeed of WIFI is not slower than the wired Ethernet. With the development of the embedded technology,thecomputer can be used in almost every aspect of our life. The ARM brings us big convenience for its small sizeand low price.At the same time, the technology of obtain an image get a progress and the demand for imagedata also increases a lot.With the image data we obtained becoming more and more big, the transmission ofthem is a bottleneck.Our task is to design a image transmission system for theAOTF camera. We combined the embeddedand WLAN technology.At first, we discuss the basic knowledge of802.11and the development of ARM.Then,we introduced the detailed hardware.An FPGAwith theARM core is selected. The wireless chip we usedis the88W8686from the Marvell. In the software part,we chose the embedded TCP/IP stack LWIP. Thenetwork interface and the transplant of the driver are described.At last,we built a small server by theAPI. Itcan respond to the corresponding client and send the image data to it through an ad hoc network.The result shows that our system is able to transmit the image and has a practical value.
