Production system of discrete manufacturer, which involves in product structure,manufacturing process, equipment resources, planning and other factors, is such acomplex transformation process from input to output that the characteristicrelationships of inputs and output can not be described by resolved simplemathematical function or mathematical model.Therefore, an accurate description ofthe structure and behavior characteristics of the production process has become aserious problem to be solved.A typical discrete manufacture is taken as the research object in the paper. Firstly,production system reengineering related technical methods such as the processreengineering technology, Petri nets modeling supporting process reengineering, TOCand simulation technology are studied. Secondly, the characteristics of the enterpriseand its production system are summarized, the process of production systems isanalyzed, a set of process evaluation is suggested to provide the optimization. Newly,Petri nets is expanded on time,level and color. The Petri nets level structrure model ofthe production system is established, qualitative analysis is processed, mappingmechanism is set up from Petri nets structure model to eM-plant simulation model.Production system process modeling and optimization steps are summed up byintegrating modeling, simulation technology and TOC. Finally, manufacturing process,which is the core process of produciton system process, is studied as a case based onactual production of a branch of the typical manufacture. Petri nets structure model ofkey pieces of production hoist is established to analyze some of its properties, eM-plant simulation model and its logic control are constructed based on the structuralmodel and the mapping mechanism. Test statistical reports are summarized by runnigthe simulation model, performances of the system are quantitatively analysed andbottleneck is found,then its impact on the system is analyed, and thus the core part of the production system is optimized. The example verify the validity of the model,which also achieves an accurate description of the production system processes andoptimize results.Production system reengineering is a complex process management problem, theresults show the integration of modeling and simulation optimization method enableenterprises to effectively understand and analyze the structural characteristics of theproduction process and behavior characteristics,which plays an important role forenterprises to implement recycling.
