The rapid development of information technology boosts the explosive increase of data storage,and the RAID, Tape Library, CDROM library and many other mass storage devices have been widelyapplied. CDROM library, as a kind of secondary storage device, has the advantage of large capacity,long life-span, and high safety, while its low speed and poor search performance and otherdisadvantages has increasingly failed to satisfy the demand of the users. How to improve the accessspeed has been the key element of enhancing the whole CDROM library system storage performance.Thus this thesis is going to research the virtual CDROM library storage system and provide a newmethod and way of thinking to effectively improve the access capability of CDROM library system.This paper, combined with the analysis of storage principle and function of the CDROM librarymodule, has built a storage system based on virtual CDROM library. It mainly includes: SCSIinterface transfer, MYSQL database, search query disk-CDROM library cache replacementalgorithm and storage resource management.Based on the analysis of Socket communication interfaces and SCSI transport interface principle,it has designed different designs of interface and accomplished the communication and transmissionof data between the client and the server, the server and CDROM library.MYSQL data library, which has been used as the search tool, designs objects according to thequery features of file information and creates a MYSQL database, and as a basis for creating arelational database table, and this thesis creates the database tables with multi-table structure andindex functions by the analysis and experiments on the performance of the database table. This thesisrespectively meets the requirements of having the function of retrieval queries, task scheduling anddata information storage.This thesis establishes a virtual CDROM library system cache model through the research andanalysis on the traditional model, and proposes an improved caching algorithms suitable for thesystem. Through in-depth analysis and testing of experimental of the model parameters and thecomparison with the relevant model, this thesis determines the optimal parameters of the modelalgorithm.A storage management platform is built to connect store management, cache management,CDROM library management and database mamagement, constituting a virtualized storageenvironment to achieve the unity of operation and management.Finally this thesis verifies the effectiveness and feasibility of the system performance throughactual testing of the function and transmission performance of the entire virtual CDROM librarysystem.
