Wireless sensor nodes using batteries are distributed in large or hostileenvironment. It is very difficult to change the batteries. So, low power designbecomes one of the most important content of wireless sensor network research.Studies have shown that decreasing the data flow can prolong the life of wirelesssensor nodes. Using data aggregation can solve the problems given above. Networkperformance will be affected while the method to schedule the aggregation timing isnot proper. So, we have to look for a good method to schedule the data aggregationtiming.Through the analysis of data aggregation timing control algorithms forapplications that collect data periodically, we can know that all of the algorithmsonly concern the locations and the number of a node’s children. But the differenceof each branch’s max distance and packet size still affect the performance of dataaggregation. In order to solve the problems that have come up at the beginning, thispaper will raise some new methods.1. The traditional data aggregation timing control algorithms for applicationsthat collect data periodically neglected the difference of each branch’s max distance.So, this paper raises an algorithm named SATCM. The first step of the algorithm isto renew the skip. Then every node computes data aggregation timing based on therenewed skip.2. The traditional data aggregation timing control algorithms for applicationsthat collect data periodically base on total aggregation. But some applications adoptpartial aggregations. In these conditions, it is absurd to neglect the impact of thedifference of the length of packets on the data aggregation timing. So, this paperraises a new algorithm named DATCM to solve the problem.3. DATCM can make the packets arrive at the Sink earlier. SATCM canachieve higher data delivery. So, the paper proposed a new algorithm namedDSATCM in order to improve DATCM.Through simulations, the improved algorithm decreased the average energyconsumption and achieved higher delivery rate. Moreover, a lot of data arrived atSink earlier.
