Bi-lateral Resource Integration Service (BIRIS) is a typical service modelbased on broker. In BIRIS, brokers gather a large number of customers andproviders. Customers express their demand for services to the broker and providersprovide their own service resources to broker. Brokers establish relationships ofservice supply and demand and service interactions between customers andproviders. Broker constantly create and optimize service value through processmonitoring and maintenance service interaction process. In the services, how to protect the full realization of customers’ value, how toprotect providers to gain maximize value, how to protect broker can obtain theirown value and create value for both parties at the same time. These questions needbe researched and resolved. In this paper, service value is the most basic concept toexplore solutions to these problems based on BIRIS. The detailed research contentsare the following aspects:(1) Services model extensions based on state transition. We describe theBi-lateral Resource Integration Service, its structure and its service organization. Weintroduce three service participants of BIRIS and its service type. We introducescalable service model description of BIRIS based on functional ontology and statetransition to support further value measure and analysis.(2) Value-added measure for Bi-lateral services. We describe the value-added ofBIRIS by comparing it with traditional service model. For three participants ofBIRIS, such as customer, broker and provider, we give the measure of service valuefor each service participant, and we give the measure formula of service value basedon probability.(3) Value-oriented service model analysis and optimization. We analyze servicemodel from five aspects, such as the value GAP, the value responsibility points, thevalue criticality, the value sensitivity and the value rational distribution. Then, wegive detailed methods and procedures of the value analysis. We give the method ofservice model optimization based on ABC and value improvement.(4) Based on the above theories, we design and implement the analysis tool ofvalue-oriented service model. Then, we describe the function modules of system andshow the analytical results. Finally, we make the validation of the service modelanalysis by a example of maritime logistics.
