In recent years, with the development of computer technology, network transmissiontechnology, video compression technology, the safety requirements of the production andliving environment continue to improve, video surveillance system with its intuitive,convenient, content-rich has been taken more and more attention. Currently, the videosurveillance system has completed the transform from the traditional analog videosurveillance to the network video surveillance, this article mainly researches and develops thevideo information storage, timesharing play soft handoff system.On the basis of the existing video coding technology, network transmission technologyand video capture technology, building the overall structure of the system, implementing theprocess design and system functions of the video server and surveillance client. The systemuses the currently more popular DirectShow technology to acquisition and processing video.DirectShow is a multimedia package for the Windows operating system to build multimedia,provides a strong support for real-time capture and playback of multimedia data. The functionof the system is mainly concentrated on the video server, which completes the collection,storage and network transmission, uses the H.264video codec standard, with highercompression ratio, to compress video information, uses the RTP/RTCP protocol, with IP as amedium, to transport the real-time video information. The Video surveillance client mainlyremote timesharing play the video information of the server, and uses the multi-threadingtechnology to effectively handoff the multi-server and the multiple video channels. Finally,the system run a long-time test, the results of which show that the system is stable, reliable,and can be fully applied to the actual video surveillance applications.In this paper, the full functions of the system have been implemented by software, whichhas certain new and high reference value in the case of basic hardware to complete.
