The quartz tube is mainly used for optical fiber and cable sheath tube, itsinner and outer diameter and wall thickness parameters directly affect the quality ofthe fiber optic cable is good or bad. Traditional quartz tube parameter measurementmain method is to use the cursor caliper or one thousand stars Ft of the artificial handmeasurement, this measurement method measuring precision low, efficiency slow,measurement parameters less, by workers in the subjective factors influence, butcontact type measuring method also give the quartz tube causing scratches. A flexible,non-contact, high-speed, high-precision detection technology requirements in order tobe able to meet modern production, this paper, based on the principle of lightrefraction, using CCD image information of the quartz tube as the main sensor partsacquisition, resulting in a quartz tube parameters photoelectric measuring method ofthe information, which belongs to a non-contact measurement.Articles on the law of refraction measuring the optical principle of thequartz tube wall thickness and other parameters derived in detail, and focuses on theselection of the CCD image sensor, the timing drive pulse as well as the CCD outputsignal processing. Final choice by comparing a variety of CCD devices Sony the linearray ILX508as image sensors, CPLD technology through VHDL languageprogramming to achieve in the ALTERA of EPM240T100C5N development board thedrive pulse ILX508timing circuit design, the preparation of the program, compile,and download QUARTUS Ⅱ software developed. Design enlarge the characteristicsof the output voltage signal for the CCD, filtering, binarization, and A/D conversioncircuit, and use STC89C52external expansion memory to store data having a dataextraction and finally written in LabVIEW, processing, as well as to generate thegraph function PC software for processing the signal data collected, the software is able to visually showing the graphical interface is easy to accept, and to facilitateanalysis.
