The Influence Of Dynamic Text On Visual Search Of Educational Webpage

With the era of information technology and digital learning coming, education webpage as themain carrier containing educational information, plays an important role in our learning. Thecurrent webpages are diverse and combine with dynamic element and static element. Dynamicinformation added on the web page make the limited interface presents a lot of informationpossible possible, but also make the web information presentation becomes more complex. Butwhat we need to consider is whether the dynamic text information can help learners access toinformation and can facilitate the processing of information. Therefore, it is very important andurgent that provide some advice and guidance for the adjunction of dynamic information which isbased on the learners’ information processing characteristics. Considering visual search is animportant aspect of information processing, we can start to explore the adjunction of dynamic textinformation of educational web pages from the perspective of visual search.Firstly, this thesis investigated the usage of dynamic text on current education webpage,select ed the three most frequently used dynamic text-move the text down to up, move the textright to left, blinking text, as the object of study. Then two experimental studies were conductedon undergraduates which used the Tboii120series non-headset eye tracker. The first was theinfluence of dynamic text and without dynamic text on visual search of Educational Webpage; Thesecond was the influence of dynamic text types and their position on the visual search ofEducational Webpage. The conclusions of the study are as follows:(1) Different types of dynamic texts have different effects on visual search processing ofEducation webpages,showing that eye movement index of visual search has differences.(2) Dynamic text in different locations of the web have different effects on the preparationphase and the search phase of the visual search process of Education Web, showing that eyemovement index of visual search has differences. Dynamic text type(3) The interaction test of types of dynamic texts and dynamic text in different locations ofeducation web shows that the interaction is part of significant.According to the research results，guiding principles of adding dynamic text to the educationwebpages were proposed.
