The continuous development of XML technology makes more and more informationbe stored with the form of XML. For the convenience of the operation of search andaccess to these XML data, W3C designed a new XML query language—XQuery, made itpublish as the standard of the XML query language in January2007, and formulated aseries of standard specification.XQuery relative to XML is similar to SQL relative to relational data base. Thereexist standards conformance test suit and testing framework, based on the deep researchto the newest XQuery specifications, a standards conformance test model for XQuerylanguage is put forward to make the standards conformance test cases have a high rate ofcoverage for grammar features and requirements of XQuery specifications. This modelhas good abstraction and expandability.The most traditional standards conformance test work is manual work which has lowefficiency and high cost. But an automated testing framework based on python isavailable for XQuery standards conformance test, and completes automated testing whichaims at loading data. automatically, executing test cases automatically, comparing resultsautomatically and exporting result document automatically, thus increasing testingefficiency and guaranting the quality of softwares. The design of this automated testingframework is based on model’s idea.Take the model to apply to the XML database which is developed by Shanghaifounder of digital publishing technology co., LTD by means of automated testingframework, and implement automated conformance testing work. Evaluating this XMLdatabase’s XQuery functional characteristics and coincidence level to XQuery standardsby means of model’s apply aims at explaining model’s correctness and availability. The model can apply to various of XML database systems’ conformance testing, so that thesystems can have comparability for coincidence level to XQuery standards.
