As the center of document information, libraries are home to large amounts ofdocument resources and databases. The most direct way to get information stored inlibrary is to search via its Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). As development ofcomputer network technologies, OPAC has been used in many fields. As an important part of automated management system of the library, OPAC mainlyserves as a way for readers to get bibliographic information and resources through webservice. However, OPAC of many libraries is only limited to the retrieval of theirbibliographic information with no such functions as cross-database retrieval, which leadsto a single and boring search interface of OPAC. This paper analyzed current situation ofOPAC technologies at home and abroad and designed a releasing system of resource andservice, taking the OPAC service conditions of the library in my working place as anexample. This system aims at achieving the integration and management of part digitalresources based on OPAC and addressing such problems as information about CDsattached with books provided in no detail and lack of the function of resources integration. This releasing system takes Eclipse as its development platform and uses three-tierapplication in its design, including data import module, MARC analysis module, dataupdating module, cross-database searching module and database connection pool. Thesetechnologies enable it to revise the MARC data of CDs attached with books recorded inLibsys literature information service system and to realize the mutual query ofcorresponding resources of our library and Apabi e-books, which will guarantee thesmooth operation of teaching and scientific research. While designing the part to realizethe integration of part resources, we’ve taken into consideration whether this releasingsystem can run on different operating systems to meet development needs of libraries. Plus,as this system uses Eclipse as its development platform, it’ll be easier for R&D personnelto customize and expand this system and meet their demand for follow-up R&D.
