With the development of science and technology, and putting forward new requirementsof hydrological information continuously. The observation content of hydrologicalinformation are also on the increase. The water supply, irrigation, flood control, powergeneration of reservoir are related with people’s lives, Therefore, It’s necessary to design thehydrological remote monitoring system with a set of advanced smart detection equipment. Inthe hydrological monitoring systems, It’s required the real-time monitoring of the gates, waterquality, traffic and other information. Then monitoring data is sent to the industrial networkmanagement center for processing. The design of the monitoring system, making people onlyneed to understand the site’s hydrological parameters through the monitoring center, and tojudge the status of the water level of the reservoir, for the situation of flood to conductdynamic monitoring, in order to take protective measures in a timely manner.Firstly, to develop the overall design of the monitoring system according to the actualsituation of the reservoir site. To conduct a reasonable selection of hardware terminalequipment include controller PLC and sensors. Controller(PLC) of each site are located in themiddle of the system control layer. The sensors are set in the measurement layer to collectdata. To design PC interface by Kingview software. There are better interface and rich featuremodule in the Kingview software. Accordance with the requirements of the system functions,it’s already to complete the overall monitoring, data processing, control functions, and alarmquery module. In addition, using the SQL database software in PC, then make the reads andwrites data between Kingview and database come true.Secondly, to analysis and apply the measurement and control network in the hydrologicstation monitoring system. The mode of Modbus RTU was used between the systemcontroller PLC and sensor in this system, and CAN bus network was used between the PLCand the transmitter. PLC controller as master in this layer, to access and control the data ofeach sensor instrumentation. However, The controller communicates with the host computer is via Industrial Ethernet, and the host computer as the client to access server PLC.Finally, for the case of sensor failure-prone, particle filter is applied to fault diagnosis.The common characteristics with traditional resampling algorithms are all high complexity,more machine-time will be costed. In order to meet the high real-time requirements, a newresampling algorithm called was proposed.And used the method of system fault diagnosiswhich is based-on residual generation, The Matlab Simulation results show that the newmethod is effective for fault diagnosis,better real-time and faster running time.
