Nowadays the science and technology have fast developed,as people’s living standardrequirements continue increasing. Our society has undergone tremendous changes. Therequirements of living and working environment is improveing,and the cost of humanresources rapidly rise.These things make human manufacture a variety of automationequipment which have widely used in the life. Robot is one of the high-tech automationequipment which can not only help us to engage in complex duplication but also loadintensity risk coefficient higher operating. The robot research and development in ourcountry is changging from the traditional DC motor drive system to the AC motor drivesystem. This paper is based on the robot walking motor drive system as the background,andit focuses on the special low-voltage and high current motor research to design the ACtraction controller. The AC traction controller can satisfy the robot walking technicalindicators, also the controller can be used on all types of electric vehicles.The research and development efforts on this robot AC traction controller in the papercomes from the special robot project which our military focus on. This topic hasconsolidated AC traction motor controller research, application situation and its futuredevelopment direction. It is beginning from the risk robot project needs, which based on theapplication of theory, technology innovation and engineering. This paper elaborates therobot walking control system design idea, and using the high-performance vector controlmethod which the rotor field oriented. Also the fuzzy PID control method is used in themotor speed control process to be optimized. This subject select the InfineonSAK-XE164FN-16F80L microcontroller as the control chip to make the AC traction motorcontroller, constitute robot crawler drive unit which can have a series of designperformance.
