Image is an visual information. As the development of science and technology,the requirements of image quality for people is more and more high. So the researchof digital image processing is more and more important. In the respect of digitalimage processing, the relation between image pixels is not a linear in general. Thuspeople introduce the non-linear approximation method in digital image processing.Especially, as a typical representative of non-linear approximation, rationalinterpolation plays an important role in digital image processing. In this thesis, wewill construct a new rational interpolation function. At the same time, we put therational function as a new image interpolation algorithm. At the end, through a set ofexperiment, we prove that the new method can improve the quality of the imagesaccording to the experimental data. The whole text can be divided into five chapters.Chapter One: In this part, we mainly described the research background, thedomestic and foreign research situation, the purpose and meaning, and also introducethe main work what the author does.Chapter Two: In the second part, some classical traditional interpolation methodwill be introduced respectively, and also we will compare and analysis the advantagesand disadvantages of each interpolation methods.Chapter Three: In the third part, according to these traditional methods, thisthesis puts forward a new bilinear rational interpolation function, and also analysisand prove the properties and characteristics of the rational function.Chapter Four: In the fourth part, we will use the double linear rational functionas image interpolation basic function, and through a set of experimental data toillustrate the new interpolation method is effective and applicability.Chapter Five: In the fifth part, at the end of this part, we summarized the workand made some advices for the future work.
