Along with the rapid expansion of network’s application, the problem of exhaustion of address resources of IPv4has been unavoidable; meanwhile the development of next generation network-IPv6has become necessary and urgent. It can be foreseen that the world will under a large-scale deployment of IPv6network in the next few years. And how to frame IPv6systematically to suit for enterprise status, realize the smooth transition from IPv4to IPv6and make full use of new features of IPv6has been a concern. Therefore, this article has important realistic significance for the deployment model research of IPv6network.This paper introduces the background and domestic and international research status of IPv6research, summarizes briefly the framework, the content, routing protocol and the safety features of IPv6agreement and the three transition technology. Then introduces general principles and process of the deployment of IPv6network.The paper puts forward the IPv6network deployment model based on the progressive modular design in terms of the path and process of design. The meaning of so-called modular design is to divide IPv6network into several different functional modules (block) top-down, and put forward a series of network deployment model according to network characteristics of each functional module (block). Each series of network design model of module (block) is designed from simple to complex progressive relationship, highly generalizes the characteristics of a variety of network types. At the same time, this paper expounds the advantages and disadvantages of various models and applicable condition in detail, which can provide framework of different network at most.At The end of the paper, with the aid of the virtual software platform, the author simulates the realization of several typical IPv6network deployment model and demonstrates its feasibility.
