Underwater camera is an important tool for ocean development; it can get imageand video information of underwater, collect first-hand information for the people.Underwater camera is widely applied today to underwater sightseeing, salvage,submarine construction, scientific research, etc. Driven by the rapid development ofdigital compression technology, image acquisition and recording technology and highresolution CCD sensor technology, the design and manufacture of underwater cameraalso made great progress.The purpose of this paper is to develop a self-contained underwater camerawhich can complete the underwater image shoot or storage, and batch reading. Theexternal object imaging on the target surface of CMOS image sensor through theoptical system, the responsibility of CMOS image sensor convert the optical signalinto electrical signal, then electrical signal output regular driven by the timing pulse.Via the coding operation of these signals in the SPCA1527A signal processing module,the received image and video information can not only be stored in the SD card butalso display in the host computer through the USB bus interface. The SPCA1527Afirmware connects with the micro-controller single chip through the optical coupler.Micro control unit is composed of MSP430F149as the main chip, which control thesix LED lights on and off. The application software are designed by using theLabVIEW software.The information of tasks table are sent to the single chipmicrocomputer by the serial port.These information are stored in the AT24C02, clock chip DS1302control time toproofread the task list. When time proofreading, camera starts work in accordancewith the task. The following jobs are finished in the design and development ofsystem:1. Analyzing the basic frame of underwater camera; enacting the designscheme of the whole system, including the monolithic machine selection,image sensor selection and signal processing system chip selection; control process of the signal chip and finishing the displaying function on thecomputer.2. Designing the hardware circuit of the whole system, specifically referring tothe peripheral circuit of MCU, it includes clock circuit, memory circuit andthe signal conversion circuit.3. Compiling the corresponding control program, it includes setting theDS1302chip microcontroller control procedure, and the procedures ofsingle chip to control storage information and read task from the memorychip to finish the proofreading function. In the application software,itdesign front panel for task setting, the image and video reading.4. The design of package, it include the design of form and sealingequipment,which make the underwater cameras work under3000meters.The whole system has been tested, the front panel design tasks, self-containedunderwater camera successfully completed collection and read of the image and videoinformation. The upper position machine and the lower position machine cancommunication properly; the host computer can read the video and image successful.Analyzed by SolidWorks Simulation, the shell of the Self-contained underwatercamera meets the requirements about3000meters depth. The experimental resultsshow that: the design of self-contained underwater cameras can work under3000meters to shoot image and storage.
