Studies On Features Of Present Ink-jet Printer Documents In China

With computerization and electronic application in office, a variety of outputdevices emerge in common social life, among which the ink-jet printer, often adoptedto produce regular documents, consists a vital part of computer output devices. Moreand more social activities under sustained economical prosperity and improved legalsystem require diverse machines and tools including the ink-jet printer to producecommon documents like contracts, IOUs and certificates. Those documents, oftenseen in lawsuits of China, contribute to one of the important subjects of forensicappraisal studies. Researches on different features of ink-jet printed documentslargely promote the identification of documents, equipments, tampering andcounterfeits to fully support forensic document examination, thus greatly enhancingthe realization of judicial fairness and justice.This dissertation mainly elaborates on features of ink-jet printed documents fromthe following perspectives: the first chapter introduces history and developing trend ofink-jet printed papers by illustrating ink-jet printing technologies and their origins andevolution to offer an overall presentation for the reader to get; the second chaptermainly demonstrates principles for ink-jet printers to work as well as the structure ofthe machine, more detailed in technologies of Epson, Canon and HP products; thethird chapter mainly introduces major brands and types currently adopted in China, samples designed in order to develop ink-jet printers, collection of these samples andtheir analysis by means of microscope and other document identifying devices,providing the reader with background information for regular ink-jet printers in China,as well as research approaches the author takes; the fourth chapter focuses on featuresof ink-jet printed documents shaped in sample analysis as well as generalcharacteristics of ink-jet printing, from factors such as ink distribution, injector size,resolution, then discusses their application to ink-jet printed documents identification;the fifth chapter adds some problems that need paying attention to while making useof ink-jet printed documents in identification and a specific case related.
