In this paper, we utilized the Plane Wave Expantion and two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain technique to have numerical calculation. Based on the self-collimation effect and light beam interference theory, two novel photonic circuits are proposed an demonstrated. The main research works an conclusions are as following:1.1X4photonic optical splitters based on the self-collimation ring resonator in either rod-type or hole-type silicon photonic crystal. We obtain the equations of the transmission spectra of the1x4self-collimation ring resonator by utilizing the multiple-beam interference, and discuss the conditions of being1x4photonic optical splitters and list different splitting rations for1x4photonic optical splitters. The spectra are investigated by Finite-Difference Time-Domain simulation agree well with the theoretical spectra. Also we discuss the phase influence of beam splitters.2.1x4optical multiplexer based on self-collimation effect in either rod-type or hole-type silicon photonic crystal. Two Mach-Zehnder Interferometers with different cavity lengths were placed in the structure. The theoretical transmission spectra of the cascaded Mach-Zehnder Interferometers were analyzed with the multiple-beam interference, and they were investigated with the Finite-Difference Time-Domain simulation technique.Innovation of this article:A kind of self-collimation ring resonator (SCRR) are proposed utilizing the self-collimation effect and multiple beam interference. Based on the SCRR we design photonic optical slitters, the predicted theoretical spectra agree well with the simulated spectra.1x4optical multiplexers include cascaded Mach-Zender Interference were proposed. Because of the small dimension, low power loss and high free frequency range, they would be applications in the photonic integrated circuits.
