With the constant innovation of computer technology, embedded systems research has entered the heyday. But due to the rapid development of microelectronics technology in recent years, especially in Xilinx company manufacturing process for28nm Virtex-7series FPGA for logo, embedded system development has entered a higher level update.In addition, from the perspective of the market foreground of embedded products, it contains huge economic potential.It is because of technological level and economic benefits, the influence of such factors as the embedded system design based on FPGA is gradually replace the traditional embedded development.Because the embedded system design based on FPGA has the very good custom, but also can reduce development costs, shorten the development cycle, improve design efficiency, and also has a lot of software development platform.For the FPGA embedded system research and analysis, however, most are based on ARM microprocessor, and rarely involves the Powerpc.The main reason is the current analysis about Powerpc embedded system and application research of data is relatively scarce, and research and development costs are relatively high.Combining with the current research and the research status quo and the experimental conditions, this paper based on the XUP Virtex-II Pro FPGA embedded system are analyzed and applied research.Based on XUP Virtex-II Pro FPGA embedded system analysis and application research not only the analysis and study of the FPGA embedded systems is of great significance, and research on embedded system based on the Powerpc has extremely valuable reference value,laid the practical basis for subsequent research work.In this paper, the main research works and results are as follows:First, on the development of embedded system and FPGA embedded systems development and Xilinx FPGA development platform are briefly introduced. Research with Xilinx FPGA embedded solutions, this paper expounds the XUP based Virtex-â…¡ Pro FPGA embedded system research status and significance.Second, from the theory of embedded operating system and the principle of the embedded file system are studied, on the analysis of the structure of embedded Linux kernel and has nothing to do with the processor architecture of the kernel boot process, at the same time analyzed the ext2root file system disk layout, data structure and the build process.Powerpc hardware platform is set up on the third, from the experiment, design the Linux Powerpc cross compiler tool chain, on XUPVirtex-IIPro FPGA development platform successfully transplant the Linux kernel and root file system, and can run on processors Powerpc405normally.Fourth, the method of instance validation that was used in Powerpc405on porting embedded database Sqlite3, success of transplantation work powerfully demonstrating how an XUP Virtex-â…¡ Pro FPGA Linux embedded system is correct and have the ability to do secondary development.
