Since the reform and open policy, the world is very concerned with the economic achievements of China. With the development of economy, more and more social contradictions appear. In order to make the solution of the conflict effectively, we cannot rely only on the judicial way. At the same time, some contradictions do not involve law. They are not within the scope of the court. In our country, the people’s mediation is an important way to resolve disputes. Mediatory TV programs process the people’s mediation onto the screen.This dissertation takes mediatory TV program as the research object, adopting the literature method, case study method, comparative research method. This dissertation analyzes the rise and the background, types, real results, existing problems and development strategies of mediatory TV programs. According to different emphasis, mediatory TV programs can be divided into three categories: psychological communication type, mediation type and legal judgment type. The real effects of mediatory TV program include:solving practical problems, promote the communication, and forming a demonstration effect. Mediatory TV programs also have problems. Specifically, the main problems of mediatory TV programs are: falsehood, exaggerated, invasion of privacy, and loss of control. Aiming at the existing problems, in the future mediatory TV programs should strive to do the followings. Firstly, adhere to the principle of moderation. Secondly, ensure that the content is true. Thirdly, protect the legitimate rights and interests of the parties. Fourthly, pay attention to mediation effect. Mediatory TV programs should face the achievements and problems, foster strengths and circumvent weaknesses, be sincere and reliable and try to serve the society actively.
