In order to comply with the requirements of the times, the IEEE802.11p/1609series standard protocol is specially formulated by the international standard-settingorganization IEEE,which takes the IEEE802.11series as the template protocols. Sincethe formal standard of IEEE802.11p had just been issued in2010, nowadays thosewireless communication products based on the802.11p protocol have not yet beenappeared on the market formally. For OFDM system, the success of the synchronizationcan not be ignored, for which is the premise of the entire vehicle communicationprocess. Frame synchronization technique is the key technology in the OFDMsynchronization process.During the past period, researches on synchronization methodfor OFDM have been mostly based on the previous802.11a WLAN protocol.Nowadays, still, rare ones are based on the802.11p protocol which is especially adaptto the the car mobile communication, not mention the research on framesynchronization method. The main contents of this thesis involves:(1) This paper sums up the new features of802.11p protocol, for the vehiclewireless communication, by comparing key parameters of the new802.11p physicallayer protocol with the previous802.11protocol, which is the based reference for thenew one.(2) The802.11p physical layer specification transmission technology(OFDM) hasbeen studied in this paper. For the synchronization part, this paper focuses on the timesynchronization technology. In-depth theoretical and experimental simulation analysisand research work has been done in this paper to help us get a good knowledge of thosetypical synchronous methods for their merits and demerits.(3) Appropriate frame synchronization methods for the IEEE802.11a PHYstandards are analyzed in this paper. With reference to the improving changes in the802.11p physical layer standards, a new method for frame synchronization is proposed, which will be able to adapt to the vehicle wireless communication environment. The simulation results prove that the new method has a better performance compared withthose previous synchronization methods when encountering a multipath channel andlow SNR situation. Thus it is of practical significance for the vehicle environment.
