Ultrasonic phased array detecting has been widely used in many filed because of its gooddetection result. By adjusting the time delay of each element when transmitting and receivingsignals, ultrasonic phased array can make the beam steer and focus, and form a clear imagewith a better detection resolution. Nowadays, ultrasonic phased array detecting and imagingtechnique has become a research hotpot, and gradually moves towards application market.This thesis is based on the ultrasonic phased array detecting and imaging technology, andfocus on researching on improving the detection resolution as well as the image quality.Firstly, relative theories of ultrasonic phased array are introduced, including the principleof sound deflection and sound focusing. Provide the time delay formula for beam steering andfocusing. By the simulation and analysis of the relationship between time delay accuracy andsystem imaging resolution, beam steering accuracy, as well as system focal point controllingaccuracy, provides a theoretical basis for the retional design of time delay accuracy. Finally,analyze the ultrasonic phased array imaging characteristics and the reasons for deviation.Secondly, discuss the principle of synthetic aperture focusing technique. A variety ofsynthetic aperture imaging methods has been simulated. At the end of this chapter, introducethe synthetic aperture focusing imaging algorithm, and analyze the calculation of the syntheticaperture time delay.Finally, introduce the spatial impulse response method, and simulate the impulseresponse of the ultrasonic transducer based on the method. Using the spatial impulse responsemethod to obtain the impulse response signal that the phased array transducer receives andform the B-Scan image. Given the advantages of synthetic aperture focusing technique, applyit to the ultrasonic phased array imaging to improve the focusing effect. Simulate withsynthetic aperture focusing algorithm to deal with the phased array scanning data. And theresult of simulation shows that applying the synthetic aperture technique to the ultrasonicphased array imaging can improve the focusing effect, thus can improve the image quality.
