With the development of the embedded technology and the internet of tings, RTUhas been widely used in management on oil field. In order to solve the problems ofcurrent RTU simple designed, inflexible used and weak processing, the design ofintegrated RTU based on ARM9and Linux is proposed in this dissertation.Based on the demand for applications, an integrated RTU is designed byresearching on the remote monitoring system in oil wells. The RTU can be configuredflexibly to meet the different needs in every occasion. The RTU is comprised of ARM9as the processor with Linux running on it. It performs well in control and storage. Also,it is compatible with a variety of communication protocols.The hardware design of integrated RTU is studied, including the core board andmainboard. The design of several modules is researched, such as memory module,digital input module, digital output module, analog input module, RS232module,Zigbee module, RS485module, Ethernet module, EEPROM and temperaturemeasurement module. Subsequently, the transplantation of IIC, SPI, Modbus, NandFlash and Ethernet drivers is reasarched as well as embedded Linux kernel. And thenembedded software is designed. Finally, the functional testing of modules shows that theRTU designed in this dissertation is reliable and extension flexible.
