SIP Session Initiation Protocol brings so much convenience to theMultimedia session with its fexible deployment features. But a lack ofpowerful security mechanism, lead it to face many security threats.Withmore and more organizations and institutions stared SIP applicationresearch, the studies of SIP security issues becomes an inevitable issue.Visual cryptography theory was proposed as early as in94years. Butbecause the Visual cryptography characteristics that makes Visualcryptography practical applications didn’t have much achievement in theseyears.In this paper, research the SIP authentication scheme which existedand analysis there security problems. In order to solve the problems in SIPauthentication, proposed a new method about authentication based onVisual cryptography. KDC(trusted third party) plays an role to distributesecret information.In the process of communication, it uses the theory of HTTP digestauthentication for reference to realize bidirectional identity authenticationand key negotiation.Implementation of SIP authentication scheme is based on an SIP opensource project eXosip.
