The internet of things is a hot topic in the world and has a very broad prospect of application. Large-scale application of RFID network is one of the key technologies for items identification in the internet of things. As is well known the traditional RFID authentication based on symmetric cryptography does not fit the large scale RFID network. But the limited computation ability and energy make it difficult to apply traditional public-key cryptography to RFID authentication. Now RFID authentication has its increasingly highlighted bottleneck effect in the application security of the internet of things. In this paper public-key cryptography based RFID authentication with limited computation ability and energy is deeply researched. First, a new signature algorithm called computing-commission signature algorithm is presented. In the signature, the complex energy-consuming computation in traditional signature algorithm is submitted to the verifier or a trust third party so that the tags are able to generate a valid signature and keep the signature secure, which can solve the difficult problem of computing digital signature in RFID tags. At the same time a Rabin-type crypto algorithm based key management system is proposed. Then three RFID authentication schemes based on computing-commission signature are proposed to implement the mutual authentication between readers and tags. Analysis shows that these authentication schemes are secure and fit the low-cost tags due to the low computation and energy requirement.
