With the development of the digital signal processing,the OFDM technology iswildly applied in the field of the broadband wireless communication.The main principle of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM)technology is that the channel can be divided into a number of orthogonal subchannelsin this modulation and the high-speed data signal can be converted into the parallel andlow-speed sub-data streams which are transmitted on each subchannel.In this thesis, the development and the basic principles of OFDM is introduced andIEEE802.1la Physical layer standard.The key of the design is that a deep research isgiven about the implementation of the baseband part of the OFDM transmitter andreceiver in FPGA in IEEE802.1la system.The working principle and the implementationmethod of every main module in the transmitter are given in this design. Relativelyspeaking,the design of the receiver is more complex because of the synchronization andthe channel estimation and so on.For example, the algorithm of the framesynchronization,the algorithm of the symbol synchronization and the algorithm ofchannel estimation are made in this part.Finally,the implementation of these modulesare proposed and optimized.
