In recent years, theWLAN technology developed rapidly, however, the performance of WLAN, compared with traditional Ethernet speeds there is a certain distance, so how to improve the wireless network performance and capability is increasingly important. IEEE802.11g work in2.4GHz frequency band, IEEE802.11b can and the WIFI system joined so that the original WLAN system can smoothly transition to high-speed wireless LAN, prolonged the IEEE802.11b service life of the product, can reduce the investment of clients. But for the future wireless LAN to develop multimedia services, it is the highest54Mb, s data rates are far from enough. Therefore IEEE802.11n working group has been established, in order to formulate a new high-speed wireless LAN802.1In IEEE standard. This standard is following the IEEE802.11b a g after new wireless LAN technology,600Mbps speed can reach. Meanwhile, proprietary MIMO technology can improve existing802.11a/b/g network performance. The technology was first put forward by Marconi in1908, it USES multiple antenna to suppress channel decline.A new generation of mobile telecommunication a characteristic is low cost. So in limited spectrum resources to realize high speed and large capacity, need spectrum highly efficient technology. Multi-input multi-output (MIMO) technology sufficient development space resource, use multiple antenna realize multiple than you sow, in do not need to increase the power spectrum resources and antenna sent the case, will be multiplied channel capacity. OFDM technology is more of a kind of sub-carrier, this technology will high-speed data streams, transform into parallel low-speed data flow, reducing the data bandwidth, thus, can use wireless environment of the multipath fading (frequency selective rate fall) convert flat fading its carrier between orthogonal, can efficient use of spectrum resources. Both effective combination of next generation mobile communication technology has become a hot topic.This paper first briefly introduces this chapter will first review wireless mobile communication development history, outlook future wireless mobile communication technology development trend. Secondly, this paper briefly introduces the development status of technology OFDM. Then for MIMO-OFDM technical background-made simply introduced, and then puts forward the research of the main task and significance. This paper presents the main work and content arrangement.
