With the development of economic and science, the sites which need high quality work of security are on the increase. In order to protect national property and individual property, we have to make sure the security system rounded coverage and alarm accuratly. At the same time, in order to meet the security requirements of all kinds of large shopping malls, financial centers and other large area places, security alarm system must be capable of remote supervision and control, alarm information networking should be integrated management through internet, the system should be reliable and can not easily be damaged by compromised and the system cost should be low.In this paper, the development of security alarm systems between home and abroad is introduced in recent years. And a detailed description of the key components of the intelligent security alarm system is shown in this paper. Meanwhile multi-sensor data fusion algorithm is adopted in this system. Its core mainly composes of three parts. Firstly, the hardware design of the system includes the selection of the sensors and the design of microprocessor circuit. Secondly, the identification methods include multi-sensor data fusion algorithms and the application of face recognition in the security alarm system. Thirdly, the software design of the system includes embedded software program and the design of upper computer interface.In hardware design, we introduce the role and principle of intelligent wireless network sensors and the protocol of ZigBee technology, the embedded systems which builts on ARM Cortex-M3series microprocessor, include the smallest microprocessor system design, control security door password management circuit, sub-station and the construction of Ethernet networking between monitoring centers.In the recognition process, the core technology of the system is multi-sensor fusion algorithm. Its advantages are more accurate, full manpower cost savings. This paper describes the development and advantages of multi-sensor data fusion algorithm, and the practical application of multi-sensor data fusion algorithms in our system. Face recognition technology is helpful for arresting illegal intruders.In software design, we have completed the transplantation of uC/OS-Ⅱ embedded operating system on the ARM Cortex-M3. And operating system manages every task to achieve specific functions. The use of VB.NET (platform of VS2008) control upper the computer interface and the alarm database which based on access2003.Overall, many advanced technologies are used in this design. The reasons are that the network is convenient, the cost is cheap, the operation is simple, the alarming is accurate and this system saving manpower. The fundamental purpose of our system design is to make it more practical and have market competitiveness.
