With the popularity of smart mobile devices and wireless Internet technology, the rapid development of IT technology affect some traditional industries such as food and beverage industry inevitably. Due to the more mature technology and reduced hardware costs gradually, the wireless ordering system will be used by growing number of restaurants, it will improve the customer ordering experience greatly.In this paper,by using Android mobile terminal as a client and writing system server-side employing Java Web technology, research and implement a mobile ordering system. The data storage, Android UI components, network communication technology and JSON file parsing techniques on Android client are researched. A system Manage Web applications is built using SSH framework of Java EE in server-side. Integration of Android client and server may become a smart mobile ordering system that can replace the traditional one.Firstly, the paper describes the technology, theory and software operating platform about achieving the system.Secondly, in order to make the client’s recipes can update in real time and have more varied menu graphic descriptions, building a server-side as a background to support the functions of the client. Again, in order to guarantee the data is updated in real time, real-time data interactive technology and network communication protocol between client and server-side are as key research. Finally, the paper tests the code part as well as the functional part of the system.The features of the system are:first, electronic ordering is applied to smart Android tablet PC, use this system can substitute the original traditional meal experience; second, real-time data interactive exists between Android client and server-side, information changes in server-side can be updated to the client in real time; third, the barcode ordering is added to system. In addition, using a relatively rich UI components in the process of client written, making the user experience better.
