Fuzzy control is defined as a computer numerical control technology based on fuzzy set theory, fuzzy language variables and fuzzy logic inference.It is an important research field of the intelligent control, in which human experience and common sense are expressed in forms of natural language to structure a computer-friendly input and output process model.As a consequence of being equipped with two more adjustable parameters-λ and μ, the fractional order PID(FOPID) controller possesses better flexibility and control effect in compare with the traditional PID controller.In method of the combination of the Fuzzy control and the Fractional order PID predictive function control, in which the fuzzy rules are used to adjusting the five parameters of FOPIDPFC-kp, ki, kd, λ and μ, a new algorithm is proposed to overcoming the FOPIDPFC’s shortcoming of incapable of online self-tuning parameters, hence, the modified FOPIDPFC controller makes a contribution to improve the operational stability of the generator as well as its accuracy.Results from MATLAB simulation indicate that, compared with FOPIDPFC controller and PIDPFC controller, the new control algorithm of fuzzy FOPIDPFC has better control effect being implemented in the synchronous generator excitation system.Neural network, which reveals a rapidly development speed recently, is now being widely used in the intelligent control, parameter setting, computer and many other fields.The simulation result of BP-PIDPFC algorithm, which is composed of the neural network and PIDPFC algorithm, is compared with that of the former F-PIDPFC.The simulation results illuminate a better control effect of F-PIDPFC.The summarized research results demonstrate system using the fuzzy FOPIDPFC control has better dynamic performance and static performance.Test result illustrates the same effect in the power system dynamic simulation laboratory as well as in software simulation.
