Wireless communications business development rapidly, while our spectrumresources are becoming more and more strained, the contradiction of the both need to besolved urgently. Developed from the1990s,Multi-antenna technology has become thekey to solve the problem above. MIMO communication system has greatly improvedthe utilization of spectrum and channel capacity of the communication system. It’s veryimportant for improving the system’s performance by optimizing RF front-end’s designwhich is a critical part of MIMO communication system.The paper designed and implemented a3M-850MHz multi-band super heterodynereceiver, it belongs to the RF front-end of the4×4MIMO communication system. Thereceiver comprises four identical transmission channels, and each channel contains HF,VHF, UHF1and UHF2four bands. The band and local oscillator’s transform arecompleted by the microcontroller of control link board and the DSP on the chassis.This paper first gives a brief introduction of MIMO basic concept and its systemdevelopment. Subsequently, the paper gives us a brief introduction about the advantagesand disadvantages of the wireless receiver’s several common architectures, as well asseveral concerns in indicators parameters. Relying on RF circuit design concept, theauthor has accomplished scheme、link simulation and design the design process of allreceivers’ important modules’ circuit. The testing session of entire system is given atlast. At the same time, the problems of1350MHz local oscillator leaked in the test havebeen analyzed and solved. For receiver system deficiencies, author gives the nextimprovement measures.
