Gyrotron can produce high peak power pulses of continuous wave power in avery wide frequency range, particularly in the millimeter and sub-millimeter wave band,in the development of millimeter-wave electromagnetic spectrum gyrotron series playvery important roles. Gyrotron has attractive prospects in the millimeter-wave radar,communications, electronic warfare, high-power microwave weapons research,controlled thermonuclear fusion, high-energy physics, and industrial application, whichpromote the development of the gyrotron research. After meeting the requirements, theelectron beam get into the interaction zone, exchanging energy with the electromagneticfield. Microwave tube performances depend largely on the electron gun system.Therefore the study of the electron gun has been paid extensive attention by researchersin various countries, and many types of electron gun have been developed.The theoretical analysis and simulation of gyrotron magnetron injection gun arediscussed. The full text is about the following major work1The gyrotron principle and its development are overviewed, fully discussing thecyclotron oscillation tube and gyroklystron.2As an important part of the microwave tubes, the main task of electro-opticalsystems is to produce the electron beam, and to maintain and collect electron beam. Thispaper analyzes the law of motion of the electron in the electromagnetic field and thederivation of the formula for space electric and magnetic fields, and the numericalsimulation of the magnetic field and electron trajectory.3The software used to simulate the electron gun is introduced and discuss the usemethods and principles of EGUN and MAGIC. The key parameters of the electronbeam performance are discussed, as well as theoretical analysis of factors affecting thespeed ratio and speed spread.4Through repeated adjustments, the electron gun structure, and the magnetic fielddistribution are obtained basically meeting the requirements.
