Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an untouched auto-identificationtechnology, of which has advantages that it can identifying the high-speed movingobject by embedding a electronic tag into it, even dentifying multiple tags at the sametime, and has the advantages of easily unmanned manipulation as well. As thedevelopment of RFID technology, with the followed RFID standards supported bygovernments, RFID has gained a rocket progress recent years. In this project, wedeveloped an identification software system for a dual frequency RFID reader. From theproject, the reader was designed with functions of dual frequency tag reading andwriting, of data information processing from target, and of managing the networkcommunication. The thesis takes on a detailed description on the design andimplementation of the target identification software system.First, we make a brief introduction of the RFID technology on its origin, itsstate-of-the-art and its trends, and then we focus on the analysis of anticollisionalgorithm and filtering algorithm in RFID design. With these, we analyze the generaldesign of the dual-frequency RFID reader and, especially, define the function of eachmodule. Following these, we implement the design in QT/Embedded developmentenvironment in Linux. Finally, we test the dual-frequency RFID reader in practice andthe results show that the designed dual-frequency target identifying software can meetthe product’s design. Due to its crucial role, the software system decides the totalperformance of the dual-frequency RFID reader. Taking the stability of the software,and for simplifying the design into account, the software employs a module’s way toconvey its design idea and to express its function units, in which the dual-frequencyreading/writing module can control the reading/writing operation at915MHz and13.56MHz instantaneously, and the target filtering module can implement the filteringalgorithm to decrease the data loss probability due to the wireless channel interfere, andthe network communication module can set up a network connection to let the RFIDreader exchange data with remote host. All the functional design adapts the RFID reader to the RFID technology development trends. Compared with the traditional targetidentifying algorithm of RFID reader, our dual-frequency RFID target identifyingsoftware system has the advantages of simple design leading to an easy implementation.Moreover, our RFID target identifying software solves the data jitter during the targetidentifying, hence increases the target identification ratio of RFID system.
