At present, the storage device shows the trends of miniaturization andhigh-capacity.And Users are increasingly high requirements for reading and writingspeeds. The FAT file system which is applicated in the electronic dictionary can notmeet the requirements of users for reading and writing large files and transferring filessafely. In this context, NTFS file system is the better choice. However, in some low-endproducts, memory and CPU configuration is not high, NTFS file system can notnormally run fast.This paper focuses on the design and implementation of electronic dictionary filesystem which is based on the ExFAT and NTFS. The thesis describes the technology ofthe document management system on the basis of the basic concepts and principles ofthe ExFAT and NTFS. Analysis the requirements and capabilities of the electronicdictionary file system,and models for ExFAT and NTFS’ data structure,file creation andfile format respectively.Introduce the structure of ExFAT and NTFS file system. Designthe creation of the file system, opening of the parent directory node, reading and writingfiles, and closing and opening files and other functional modules. Finally, achieve aExFAT and NTFS-based electronic dictionary file system.The test result of file system based on ExFAT and NTFS in the electronicdictionary indicates that the file system in this paper combines the advantages ofExFAT and NTFS file system, reaching the demand for high-speed of reading andwriting for a small storage device, and it is suitable for a variety of removable storagedevices.
