Millimeter waves are electromagnetic waves whose wavelengths are betweenmicrowave and infrared, which is having both the advantages of the microwave andinfrared. Compared with microwave systems, millimeter-wave system is more compactand integrated, which is used for aircraft, satellites and missile platform; Infrared andvisible light compared to the millimeter wave transmission characteristics having betterby dust, smoke, etc.. Millimeter wave has these advantages, so there has been greatconcern in the international, and it greatly promoted the development ofmillimeter-wave devices in military and civilian needs, especially high-powermillimeter-wave electric vacuum amplifier have great breakthrough, and therepresentative of one of the devices is a high-power Gyrotron amplifier.High power gyrotron device is a new type of millimeter-wave devices that it has highpower, wide bandwidth, which is very significantly used in radar communications,electronic warfare, and plasma heating. The magnetic injection gun is a core part of thegyrotron. In the paper, the research was carried out analysis and research about themagnetic injection gun, which is about with a group of research projects. To completethe design of the magnetic injection gun and discussion, the electron trajectory trackingcode EGUN and CST-PS software is used. Main points are shown below:1、Used EGUN software design double-anode magnetic injection gun, and used CST-PSsoftware validate the results, which it is compared and analysis of the simulation resultsof the two software. The magnetic injection gun achieve from two-dimensional tothree-dimensional simulation.2、Using CST-PS software to establish three-dimensional model of magnetron injectiongun, is studied in detail in cylindrical coordinates in electric field asymmetricaldistribution of the electron gun and the asymmetry of magnetic field distribution and theresult of the effect on the stability of the work of electron gun, as well as using softwareEGUN magnetron gun of the two-dimensional model is established, simulated3d gunmodel fitting in the structure of the translation of the electric field asymmetricaldistribution on the quality of the electronic injection. 3、Using CST-PS software establish a three-dimensional model of the magneticinjection gun, and study emitted electron beam quality, the results of the electron gun inthe future for further thermal performance studies provide some references.4、According to existing research results of the electron optical system, explore the newtunable magnetic electron gun, which considering the tunability of the gun structure, themagnetic field distribution, the electron beam current that these impact electron beamquality, and to better optimize and improve the performance of the electron gun.5、Exploratory studying multi-frequency electron gun, considering the first anodevoltage, magnetic field, the second anode voltage, electron current impact on theperformance of electron beam, the simulation has been some valuable conclusions forthe future design of the electron gun to improve the efficiency and new design ideas.
