With the development of information technology, digital libray has become one ofthe mainly important ways that people searching for informations. At the same time,with the “digital divide” problem brought about by information technology, theinformation accessibility idea raises, it means that making visually impaired getinformation as same as normal people, by the ways of using advanced informationtechnology. Thus, it creats an equal and shared opportunity for visually impaired toparticipate in the harmonious society. With the China Digital Library for VisualImpariment building in2008, visually impaired began to search resouces from thedigital library through the Internet. They can also get distance educations and kinds ofother services on line. The remote access of digital library gives visually impaired moreopportunities to get edudation, improving their abilities that making them more easily toget a good job.In order to get information as same as nomal people from the digital library,visually impaired can use screen reading softwares and Braille keyboard. In fact,whatever screen reading softwares or Braille keyboard, they can only read informationline by line on the screen, then, accompany with so many resources in the digital library,visually impaired can not get informations they need quickly.At recent years, the technology of information accessibility for visually impairedhas become developing more and more quickly, but in China, there are few people dothis research, as a result of that, the achievements are also very little. In this paper, theresearch works are based on the information processing technologys for visuallyimpaired, they give a way for them to get information from digital libraries morequickly and accuratily. These research works are listed as follows:1. By the use of collaborative filtering technology, it does the research thatrecommending a browse path for visually impaired. This can make a basement for thenext step that researching the intelligent information processing technology for visuallyimpaired more deeply. 2. Research the technology of automatic summarization, giving visually impairedthe main ideas or their interested informations from the resources they readingautomaticly, thus, it can make good the feather of reading slowly for visually impaired,letting them get the main ideas of browsing resources more quickly.3. In order to achieve these two researching goals listed above, it needs moresupplementary research works, such as how to segment long text into short ones thatcalled access points, so that visually impaired need only to read the access points thatmaking their reading more efficient.4. After giving the access points, it needs to research how to build the relationshipsamong them. This can use the technology of text mining, and the text similarityanalysis technology is also used. By this way, it can give a better recommendation ofbrowse paths for visually impaired through the built relationships that among accesspoints.
