Interferometric SAR (InSAR) is a measuring technique for large-scale topographicmapping, which is penetrative and high-precision in all-weather and all-time,prospective to3D terrain mapping, natural disasters and environmental monitoring,natural resource surveys and battlefield environment survey. The paper mainly focuseson InSAR imaging using Back-Projection (BP) algorithm and Surface BP (SBP)algorithm, as well as InSAR data processing methods based on BP algorithm and SBPalgorithm. The important work and innovation are as below:(1) Analysis of phase fidelity of imaging algorithm. Firstly, the paper starts withphase fidelity to analyze the algorithm model of Range-Dopplor (RD) andChirp-Scaling (CS) and studies their phase errors. Then, it brings BP algorithm toInSAR imaging for the first time, whose interference model is construted and highphase fidelity is proved in theory. Then the phase errors of three algorithms are verifiedthrough the single point imaging according to their imaging focusing effect andreference function mismatch. And their phase accuracy is compared through themultipoint imaging. In the end, the interferometric phase quality is analyzedcomparatively through the area target simulation experiment.(2) The method of BP imaging with image registration and flat earth phase removal.As there have to be image registration and flat earth phase removal for the tranditionalInSAR imaging, the paper proposes a method to accomplish image registration and flatearth phase removal when BP imaging, which simplifies the InSAR data processing. Inthe end, the paper explains a new correction method for the distortion in terrainelevation inversion.(3) The InSAR processing method based on SBP algorithm. Firstly, the paperanalysis the problems in the tranditional InSAR processing, include the poor accuracyof image registration and loss of phase information. Considering the problems, the SBPalgorithm is put forword and whose interference model is founded as followed. WhenSBP algorithm is used to InSAR imaging, the paper puts forword the InSAR processingmethod based on SBP algorithm. And the accuracy of image registration, the difficulty of phase unwrapping and the correction of terrain distortion on the InSAR processingmethod are studied. In the end, the paper explains how to implement the method inmulti-baseline InSAR. The method improve the accuracy of terrain elevationmeasurement as the results of the simulation experiment.
