As is known to all, coal mine production require extraordinarily strict safety, and the electrical equipments for coal mine production want directly or indirectly electric power to work as power source. Once the coal mine power supply system malfunction, if diagnosis fault and debugging fault is not in time, it is easy to cause serious safety accidents. Coal mine power supply system due to the power grid structure is very complicated, mode of operation is very agile, working conditions are very bad, therefore, coal mine power supply system fault occurred type is more complex than public power system, and diagnosis fault is more difficult than public power system.According to the characteristics of the coal mine power supply system, this paper puts forward a kind of distribution network fault diagnosis method based on rough set theory and combined with Hilbert-Huang transform, and independent design and developed a set of fault diagnosis system adapt to the coal mine power supply system. When the coal mine power supply network malfunction, the fault diagnosis system would immediately twinkle fault alarm message, ring fault alarm bell, show fault type and fault treatment countermeasures. The fault diagnosis system has a very quite diagnosis effect for coal mine power supply system’s frequent fault, such as single-phase-grounding fault, short circuit fault, ferroresonance fault and broken line fault and so on all, therefore the fault diagnosis system is accurate and practical.Fault diagnosis system’s hardware part mainly includes measuring unit, optical fiber, optical switches, photoelectric transceiver and fault diagnosis server. Measuring unit’s function is to acquire electric analog quantity and transform the analog quantity into digital quantity, and then the processed digital quantity information will upload to fault diagnosis server host through fiber optic Ethernet, fault diagnosis server host will take on grid monitoring and fault alarm responsibility.Fault diagnosis system software part mainly achieve by Visual Studio C#platform. The software part is to achieve the function of A/D acquisition and data uploading by measuring unit, meanwhile the function of network monitoring, fault diagnosis analysis and fault alarm by fault diagnosis server. The fault diagnosis system is independent of the original substation integrated automation, and they run up without any interference by each other, so their operation stability is very excellent.
