With the rapid development of modern computer technology and communications technology, the Internet has become an integral part of people’s lives. For the mainstream of traditional network technologies, including the type of IP network, ATM network, MPLS, because of its shortage in designing and coding, in the case of communication expanding rapidly, it will lead to sharp network performance problems, in this context, we propose a new network architecture that is the vector network architecture.Firstly we make a simple introduction to the research background, including some of the existing network analysis of the situation, and point out that some of the deficiencies and defects of the existing network, and lead to the concept of vector network, and then focus on technical features and the idea of the designing of the vector network, describing the differences between traditional network and vector network from the idea of designing. Followed article lists the main evaluation criteria of the performance of the network, which is closely related to the network performance parameters, and then introduce a mathematical model of network performance modeling, to note that the focus of this paper, we concern in the average network address length and network throughput for the model we modify, combing with a mathematical formula given as well as some of the data in our possession, we can get the theoretical performance analysis results. Finally, we introduce some basic knowledge of OPNET and use the simulation tool for both network simulation experiments, the actual data prove our theoretical analysis, and this in turn proving the superiority of vector network and give a guidance for the further development of the vector network.
