The Design And Implementation Of A Web-based Graduation Project Selection System

In order to improve the overall efficiency and usability of selecting graduation projects, a more convenient and scalable graduation project selection software should be developed for students, teachers and educational administrators, based on the advantages of Web technologies. The thesis designs and then implements a complete graduation project selection system based on Web technologies, including the B/S model, the MVC pattern and the SSH lightweight framework (Struts2, Spring and Hibernate). With the software, students, teachers and educational administrators can login in through any web browser to execute corresponding functions under different authorizations, including the efficient and reliable online project design, project selection and other management functions.The main work in this thesis includes three aspects. First, we carry out a comprehensive requirement analysis of the system by using the UML use case diagram to describe the detailed functional requirements of students, teachers and administrators. Second, we demonstrate the design and implementation of the system, by providing the functional module partitioning and database design and employing UML class diagram, sequence diagram and algorithm description in the detailed design of the specific functions for the above three roles. Finally, we conduct a system functional testing, including the main function flow and all major functions of the above three roles, to guarantee the correctness and availability of our software system.The web-based graduation project selection system provides more standard and flexible operational control flow of online project design and project selection functions for teachers and students. Therefore, it effectively improves the overall efficiency and usability of the graduation project selection in universities.
