The success of the Internet has led mankind into the information society. Internet has profoundly changed people’s way of living. With the constant expansion of the Internet and the increasingly diversified network application requirements, the traditional Internet has exposed some outstanding problems, such as rigid network architecture, lack of flexibility and scalability and so on. There is in urgent need of research on a new network architecture to solve these problems and to flexibly support different types of networks. As needed, the reconfigurable network technology and software-defined network technology came into being.This paper firstly analyzes the research programs of the next-generation network in the world and the research road map of reconfigurable network technologies. Then the detailed descriptions of the software-defined network research is given. The latest software-defined network techniques have supported modular network control, but still haven’t taken the reuse of modules into account.Second, to solve the deficiencies of the existing reconfigurable network technologies and the routing and switching architecture technologies, this paper introduces the idea of component into reconfigurable network technology, and presents a component-based reconfigurable routing test platform. The test platform provides the running support for the open interface components.Third, this paper focuses on the requirements and principles of open component-based implementation of the network’s control functions. Then the models of event-driven component is provided, including the packet-processing component model and the control-function component model. These two types of models are designed, and the service mechanism of the event-driven is given. These techniques can make the reconfigurations of the network’s architectures and functions more flexible and scalable.At last, this paper conducts experiments to give the validations and analysis of the proposed techniques for componentized control functions of reconfigurable network.
