With the fast increasing of IP data service, the transmission network is providing much more bandwidth than before. The Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology is a good method to provide high-speed transmission capability which present enormous capacity with low cost. DWDM technology has been widely used in backbone and metropolitan area transmission networks. The40Gbit/s based DWDM system has been very important in current long-haul transmission network. This thesis presents a comprehensive study on40Gbit/s DWDM system and its application in Jiangsu Unicom.This thesis gives a brief introduction of principles of DWDM system including system architecture, equipment structure, implementation strategy, key techniques, etc. Then some important issues in40Gbit/s DWDM system are analyzed such as system architecture, networking schemes, protecting, optical power control, optical SNR and fiber selecting, etc. Finally, a detailed40Gbit/s DWDM system design and implementation plan is proposed based on Jiangsu Unicom long-haul transmission networks. |
