China’s aging problem is increasing, the difficulty of getting medical treatment ishighlighted, coupled with the growing concern about health, The HHCE (homehealthcare engineering) gradually moved into our vision. How to take advantage ofrapidly changing communications technology to telemedicine, family-orientedmonitoring and use embedded technology to make traditional medical monitoringequipment more intelligent, portable, becomes the focus of our attention.A family-oriented remote health monitoring system based Android smart phoneand J2EE technology is designed in this paper. The real-time data acquisition terminalworn in the human body will send collected information by RF to receiving andtransmitting terminal. The information receiving and transmitting terminal complete thereception and processing of signals and the processed data will be sent to the mobilephones and server by WIFI. In close mode, we can check the real-time health status ofthe patient. In long-distance mode, we can take advantage of SMS or network to checkthe health status of the patient. When an physiological conditions exception occurs,alarm text messages will be sent to two phone number set before to notify the guardianor the doctor to take measures in time.The paper mainly details the hardware design and software design of the system.The part of hardware design introduces information collection terminal and informationreceiving and transmitting terminal based on STM32. The design of the collectionterminal includes: power supply module, interfaces of sensors, the STM32minimumsystem, CC1001peripheral circuit. The design of transmitting terminal includes: powersupply module, interface of RS232, peripheral circuit design of GPRS module and slotof SIM card, CC1001peripheral circuit. The part of software design introduces softwaredesign based on STM32MCU, software design of monitoring application on Androidmobile phone and software design of J2EE server. STM32part includes: softwareimplementation of body temperature, posture, ECG, pulse information collected in realtime, wireless transmission of data package, threshold method to determine the heartrate and pulse rate, send text messages by GPRS module. Software design of Androidapplication includes the following modules: menu interface, setting interface, WIFImonitoring, SMS monitoring, web monitoring. Software design of J2EE server includes:JDBC-based database design and web design based on Servlet. The system combines the WSN, RF, WIFI, GPRS and other technology. We designembedded hardware circuit and gather a variety of sensors, which can sense bodytemperature, posture, pulse, ECG. The system has WIFI close monitoring mode, SMS,web long-distance monitoring modes and intelligent SMS alarm function. Android andJ2EE technology make smart phones into the portable monitoring terminal. Finally, ahealth monitoring system with good application prospects which has the characteristicsof portable, nice user experience, multi-parameter real-time monitoring, remote webmonitoring, intelligent SMS alarm is realized.
