Raman spectroscopy is a powerful noncontact technique that uses a laser toprobe the vibrational energy levels of molecules in a substance. Now some of theimportant applications of Raman spectroscopy are in situ analysis, so handheldRaman spectrometer is the best tool. The content of this article is to develop thecontrol system of handheld Raman spectrometer, which is based on the embeddedsystem.In this thesis the hardware circuits of handheld Raman spectrometer controlsystem is designed, which includes both ARM floor board and ARM core board.And the hardware control circuit and interface circuit are developed according toproject too.Based on the hardware platform the Windows CE system has been customizedby the requirement of the handheld Raman spectrometer, and the system should besmall size, low power and high efficiency. In the process of system customized, wehave transplated Board Support Package, added and cut the some systemcomponents. And put the driver of CCD detector in Windows CE system. Then theSoftware Developments Kit has been exported. The system kernel files are relativelysmall. The customized Windows CE system has been tested and run very well.On the basis of the customized Windows CE system, handheld Ramanspectrometer human-computer interaction system has been designed andimplemented that contains four modules: sample testing, parameter setting,calibration curve and data management. In addition, the human-computer interactionsystem has user login module, which can protect the user data. The module ofsample testing can drive the laser and the spectrometer, analyse sample, display thespectrum and save the spectral data of the sample. The module of parameter settingcan set the parameters of handheld Raman spectrometer, including CCD detector,laser spectrum, user information. The module of calibration curve can build thecalibration curve for quantitative analysis, which is based on the theory ofleast-squares method, and save the calibration curve. The moudle of datamanagement could manage the sample data and the information of each user login.The control system has been tested, which can drive the handheld device smoothly.At last, we have looked forward to follow-up work of handheld Raman spectrometercontrol system.
