Radome is an important part that protects the antenna inside from influence ofthe environments, meanwhile affects the radiation due to the different permittivitiesbetween the radome and the air.Metamaterial is an artificial composite material thathas arbitrary permittivity. As one kind of metamaterials, epsilon-near-one(ENO)metamaterial has some similar properties to air such as low reflection、 totaltransmission and relative zero-phase shift (RZPS) transmission, and good strengthof structure. Therefore, the research works of ENO metamaterial have a greattheoretical significance and practical value for the radome.By using the basic theories of the metamaterial, focusing the traditionalperiodic structure theory and effective medium theory, the planar single passbandmetamaterial cells are designed. The ENO and RZPS properties have a goodstability for large angles and different polarizations of incident.the passband width is16.7%for the one layer metal screen. By futher using double layers metal screens,the bandwidth increases30%. The method has a good result in increasingbandwidth.Finally,the two kinds of dual-band structures (double layers complementarymetal screen and sigle layer metal screen with metal via) are designed andsimulated. These structures have a good dual-passband and RZPS properties. Thecontents of metamaterials can provide important reference for the research ofradome. |
