At present, China has entered aging society, and increasing levels of aging hasbecome an irreversible process. The pension problems of aging population havebecome hot social issues. The Internet as a communication platform for new mediahas features of the immediacy of information, interaction, high-capacity oftransmission and highly personalization. Beyond the ability of traditional mediaservices for the elderly entertainment emphasis on interactive, personalized andimmersive. New media products used in the older age groups will be the generaltrend in society today. From the aging cope with the digital impact, obstruct ofusing computers is one of the prominent issues affecting older people to adopt newmedia applications. In fact, old people have obstacles of computers use mainly inHCI. This thesis studies the elderly user groups, to explore a new method to solvethe contradiction of aging and digitization from the way of interaction.Start with the concept, elements, and common features of intangible interface.This dissertation analyses the feasibility of intangible interface for elderly, thegeneral characteristics of older age groups, and the existing media products forelderly for designing intangible interface which meets the needs of elderly. Thisthesis summarizes the methods and principles for designing intangible interface forelderly, which the writer designs an intangible interface based on, and unity thetheory and practice.
