Asymmetric-slender shaft parts with complicated shape and variety is difficult forprocessing. With the rapid development of Cross wedge Rolling technology, a convenientand efficient processing method for processing the asymmetric-slender shaft is produced.However, there is an emergent new problem: Designning and manufacturing of CWR die,the shaft shape is more complex the die designing is more complex and the manufacturingis more difficult. So the CAD/CAM technology is used in cross wedge rolling mouldproduction, this can improve the quality of cross wedge rolling mould, shorten the cycle ofmould design and manufacture and importantly solve the above problems.For wedge rolling mould, this text utilize the Pro/E development kit Pro/TOOLKITto secondary development on CAD/CAM system of Pro/E. Use VC++programminglanguage, Pro/TOOLKIT to call function and MFC visual dialog box technology todevelop the application program interface, this system is easy to operate, flexible, friendlyman-machine interface, it has practical significance on the design level of cross wedgerolling mould and realizing automation of mould manufacturing. First design CWR mouldfor a given asymmetric-slender shaft, then application of feature modeling technologymake the mould features storage with classification for parametric modeling extractionthen generate3D solid model of cross wedge rolling tool. After that analysis mouldprocessing scheme and confirm of NC code processing mould and generate cross wedgerolling die.On the basis of the theoretical study, empolder system of CAD/CAM for CWR dieincluding the establishment of cross wedge rolling mould feature model, computer aidedprocess design of the die and computer aided manufacturing mold. In addition, thisresearch establishment of the ACCESS database, and make this database connection withVS2005to handle mold character information that processing system required, the dieprocessing technology information and the tool information. And then aimed at thespecific NC machining center generate reasonable NC code.
